"Let’s Pretend"

Girls will attend different workshops centering on the performing arts where they will learn about theatre and the stage. They will explore characters, learn theatre games, and investigate some of the mysteries of magic. Brownie Girl Scouts will work on Let’s Pretend Try-It.

Girl Scouts of Shining Trail Council invites all troops to participate in “Keep Burlington Beautiful”. Parents and girls are encouraged to participate in this clean-up effort to keep the town clean. All participants will receive a free t-shirt and free lunch. Troops must pre-register in order to receive a t-shirt at the Port of Burlington before clean-up begins.

This is a program developed for girls to interact with Shining Trail Council's CEO, Donna Logan. Donna will talk to girls about the council, her job, and answer any questions the girls may have. This is a great way for girls to gain insight into how Shining Trail Council is managed from the CEO office. Girls will receive a patch, tour the office and meet the staff. Make a meeting of this program ~ reserve a meeting room.

Coral Ridge Mall located in Coralville, Iowa offers ice skating field trip packages starting at $10 per girl at the ice arena . Science Station Badge Workshops & Sleep-overs

The Science Station in Cedar Rapids offers programs that fulfull a variety of Brownie Try-Its and Junior Girl Scout Badges. The cost is $7 per girl. The Science Station also has sleep-overs for Brownies and Junior Girl Scouts at the cost of $22 per girl and $16 per adult. Ushers Ferry Historic Village

Located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is a ten-acre living history site where life is interpreted at the turn of the 20th Century. Their thirty buildings and beautiful grounds provide an excellent location for Girl Scout programming.

Girl Scout Overnights - May 19 and September 29, 2006 (All Friday-Saturday)
7:00 pm - 9:00 am Enjoy a hayrack ride, campfire stories, treats and an overnight in one of the Village homes. Cost is $15 per girl. One leader free per 5 girls. Additional adults $5 each.

Girl Scout Overnight: "Living the Life"
5:00 pm - 9:00 am Girls arrive in time to help prepare their supper on a wood stove. They enjoy a hayrack ride, crafts, stories, treats and overnight accommodations in the Village Hotel. Living With Laura Patch Workshop - April 22, 2006:
9:45 - 3:30 pm Learn about Laura Ingalls Wilder's life and work toward the Laura Patch. The girls will attend a presentation before lunch and participate in workshops following lunch. Register early as this Workshop always is very popular.
